The Annual Violence Prevention Summit is an interactive participatory workshop for girls ages 2nd – 8th grades. Girls have an opportunity to attend 4 workshops that focuses on violence awareness, helping girls to understand the importance of avoiding violence, conflict resolution and positive anti-violence development.
Reel Beauty has participated in the Violence Prevention Summit for the last four years providing workshops from their 14-week curriculum; Peace Not War, F.R.E.E. and D.A.V. With this collaboration, Reel Beauty along with Girl Scouts has helped mentor over 1000 girls through the Summit.

 
 

Demoiselle 2 Femme, NFP is an organization which prides itself in producing measurable outcomes. Two of our 11 programs are currently under national evaluation with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services as evidence based initiatives to reduce pregnancy and STD infections as well as violence prevention among teen girls. The vast experience and diversity among Demoiselle 2 Femme, NFP (D2F) and its collaborative partners demonstrate a grassroots network of organizations committed to addressing issues faced by Chicago’s youth. D2F serves as the convening organization of the South Side Coalition on Urban Girls (SSCUG) and Partnership for a Better Roseland (PBR). SSCUG is a partnership of 30 civic, faith-based and community organizations whose primary goal is to increase the health and wellness of girls who reside in distressed areas on Chicago’s South Side.
